Following is a brief history of Titan West, Inc.

Dave and Linda Smerchek, Waterville, Kansas, founders and owners of Titan West, Inc., Linn, Kansas, purchased Linn Enterprises, Inc. in September 2003 and, opened the business under the name of Titan West, Inc. on September 15, 2003.

Linn Enterprises, Inc., began some 32 years before and, was initially founded by a group of 12 area businessmen. These investors organized the business with the intention of developing a company to provide employment for the local and area, rural communities. Linn Enterprises' original focus was in manufacturing portable panels and hog panels. Upon realization of this goal, the employment and facilities grew, expanding the company's line of livestock handling equipment to include: continuous fencing; gates; stationary and portable circular livestock handling systems; the "O.K.Corral"; as well as, manual and hydraulic livestock handling chutes. The Smerchek family is committed to maintaining the plant in Linn, with plans to continue to grow and expand, as well ensure continuation of the same goals of the original founders of Linn Enterprise, Inc.

Titan West, Inc.' facilities include a 25,680 square foot building equipped for welding and fabrication. In July of 2007 Titan West moved all the painting and assembly into a new 36,000 square foot building located in the Linn Industrial Park. In the spring of 2013 Titan West plans to move into a new 40,000 square foot addition to be used for weld also located at the Linn Industrial Park. This gives Titan West, Inc over 100,000 square feet used for manufacturing. Titan West, Inc. currently has 50 full time employees. Titan West, Inc. currently has 122 dealers in 34 states and Canada. This number has been expanding since the Smerchek family has been involved. The vast array of equipment for animal handling available to Titan West, Inc. dealers continues to grow.

The Smerchek's experience in the manufacturing business began in 1986 in a home garage, building one to two livestock trailers a week. Dave built trailers at night and shoed horses during the day, while Linda was bookkeeper at a local agricultural cooperative. The business of building livestock trailers grew to include Titan Trailer Mfg.'s manufacturing facility of 27,000 square feet to the present, ultra modern plant, of some 160,000 square feet in Waterville, Kansas, just east of Linn, Kansas, that fabricates livestock, horse, and cargo trailers. Flatbed and construction trailers are manufactured at a second facility in neighboring Blue Rapids, Kansas. The two, Titan Trailer Mfg. facilities employ approximately 160 employees. In addition to many successful years of manufacturing, Titan Trailer Mfg., Inc. has a dealer network spanning 42 states and Canada. In addition, Dave and Linda Smerchek acquired the former Mann-Made trailer manufacturing facilities in late 2005 that is located just north of Titan Trailer's Mfg. facility. Titan Trailer's Mfg. purchased Logan Coach located in Logan, UT. on April 8, 2009. Titan is producing the Logan Coach brand trailers in the same town they originated in, Logan, Utah, as a division of Titan Trailer Manufacturing, Inc. In the summer of 2012 Titan Trailers acquired the "Fastline" brand of trailers facility in Marysville, KS. Titan Trailers is currently building a full aluminum line of trailers at the Marysville location. All of these ventures are listed as "Under the Hat" family companies.
